A remembrance quilt
A year ago COVID-19 came to our island shores. Since then, over 500 friends and 'ohana have passed away due to the pandemic. This quilt is for everyone affected by the corona virus outbreak; all of our lives were changed because of it. It is also to remember not only dear friends and family we have lost; but also to recognize the sacrifice of our first responders, and the costly toll on so many.
If you would like to participate, we will be collecting your uniquely designed quilt square donation and any corresponding story cards until August 1st. The drop off station will be open Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8:00am-4:00pm. Or you can mail it to WUCC, ATTN: Community Quilt.
Volunteers will be needed for both organization and assembly. The finished quilt will be`displayed at a special exhibition at the Waipahu Public Library.
